Especially Fairy

Just a quick post to share a card using free stamps from The Fairy Collection in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine with a sentiment by Clearly Besotted Stamps from Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine.

I used Sue Wilson die on Anna Marie Designs cream card stock, running it through twice to get the embossed details on the leaves. Whilst the card is still in the die, I used Distress Inks with a paintbrush to highlight the embossed areas even more and coloured the oval area in the middle. The fairy image is then stamped with Archival Ink and I added Liquid Pearls around her.

I stamped the sentiment on a cut off card and treated as above.

Matt and layer the cream card stock on pink and green paper then onto another cream card stock.

I used foam pads (stacked 3 times in the middle then down to 1 on the edges) to create a curved image. I used a Sue Wilson die for the flourish before sticking the sentiment with foam pads on top. The butterfly dies are from Tonic and the mini butterflies are cut off from a Tonic border punch!

Hope you like the card and have a great week.

Valentine Card

Hope you all had a great weekend. Here's what I've been working on in the last few days.

I designed the topper using ScanNCut and used Anna Marie Designs Centura Pearl paper. I then used sticky back plastic at the back of the topper and sprinkled red Spark! Tinsel by American Crafts at the front, making sure I rubbed it thoroughly to get rid of any excess tinsel. Mat & layer onto Forever Friends paper and a gold Centura Pearl paper.

I then used an A4 Crafts-Too embossing folder on white and mat & layer onto another gold paper. I stuck a red sparkly ribbon with double sided tape before I placed the topper on using foam pads to add a bit of height.

I cut around Sue Wilson's Border die from the French Collection to get the 6 heart shapes. I then cut 10 flowers (5 in cream and 5 in gold) using a Sizzix die with heart shaped petals (which came free with the Bigshot). I built up the flowers by pinching the petals in half; inwards for the cream and outwards for the gold before sticking them together. I then finished off the flowers with 2 different sized gems. I was playing around with the composition of the hearts and flowers for ages but am happy with the outcome.

The end dimension is 7 5/8" x 7 5/8" which can be stuck on an 8" x 8" card blank.

Hope you like the card. Any comments are welcome and thank you for looking.

Thank You Box Card

It's been a while, hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a great start for 2015.

I have used Robert Addams' Popping Box Card Template with the Trellis Arch & Edge Cutter for this card which I got for Christmas. We have got a few of All Occasion Dies by Robert Addams and they are amazing.

I followed the instruction provided to build the box, used different flower & butterfly dies to add variety then made the sentiment using Scan&Cut.

Scan&Cut is great especially for personalisation and sentiments. I have been playing around with it in the last week designing flowers and Valentine toppers which I will be sharing with you in the next few weeks.

Hope you like the card and let us know what you think. I definitely learned from this and will be changing a few things when I use it again.
