CAS Card?

Hi All

Hope you're having a good week so far. We can't wait for the weekend as we are off to the Farnborough Make It Craft Show. I'm sure we will come back with more stuff to play with :)

Here's a card I've done this week. It's quite different to my other ones recently, could this be classed as a CAS card? I have tried to limit the amount of layers and products I used.

The main image is from the Papermania Bellisima Celebrate Mini Clear Stamps and I used the masking technique to have the leaf wreath stamp (which I believe was free from a DoCrafts magazine) look like its part of the main image.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Crafting From the Heart - Challenge 48 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - Challenge 68 Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Challenge 250 Anything Goes

Other products used:
Spectrum Noir Pens
Distress Inks
Lime Tree Craft Silky Smooth Ultra White Card
Sakura Gelly Roll Pen

What do you think? Thanks for looking.

30th Birthday Gate Fold

Hi again

I've been waiting to post this card for the last week. Sorry it was late Kelly.

I cut a 6"x6"ivory card with the Tonic Decorative Envelope die and glued on another 6"x6" card blank. The organza ribbon was stuck on the card front using double sided tape and pulled through the gates.

I cut these dies twice through the Big Shot - Tonic Fay Fairy, Tonic Happy Birthday sentiment and the numbers from Marianne Design. I then manually cut around the fairy and the sentiment so they would fit nicely on the card front. I also used flowers from Tim Holtz' Tattered Flower Garland and Britannia Dies Rose Leaves.

I used DoCrafts' paper for the background, matt and layered onto green paper. The die cuts were then placed around the paper, off setting the bottom layers for the numbers, fairy and sentiment to create shadow/highlights. I then used Stickles on the centre of every flowers on the background as well as the 3 main flowers. To finish, I tied the ribbon into a bow to close the card in place.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew - 81 Birthday with Sentiment
Crafting From The Heart - 47 Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - 133 Bow & Die Cut
As You Like It Challenge - 47 CAS or Fussy (Fussy - I like using different products together and build the image. I would like to try and do CAS more often which I find difficult.)

Thanks for looking.

Camp and Colourful

Hi All

This card was a joint effort. Barry made the topper then I finished it off with embellishments. We wanted a 'Camp and Colourful' card for a friend.

Barry used Clarity Stamps' stencil, coloured with Distress Inks and adding organza ribbon through it before matt and layering on black then purple card. I glittered the edges using double sided tape. I cut the Tattered Lace flourishes, Sizzix flowers on our Big Shot whilst the crown and name were cut on ScanNCut. To finish I added the gems on the flowers, Stickles on the crown and Cosmic Shimmer PVA on the purple card.

I would like to enter this card on the following Challenges please:

Crafty Card Makers - 132 Love, Love, Love
Deep Ocean Challenge - 97 Love Is All Around
All Sorts Challenge - 298 Any Occasion Other than Birthday
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge - 124 Gems and Glitter
As You Like It Challenge - 47 CAS or Fussy (Fussy as I like using different materials and products work together)

Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday & Money wallet

Morning all
For todays card i am blogging a birthday card i made for my sister along with a money wallet.

I've recently been inspired by Clarity Stamps and the techniques she uses, so i thought i might have a go myself.

First i have taken some 7x7 card and placed the woodland stencil on top. Next i have torn some copy paper to make the hill & placed it roughly in the middle followed by a circle placed in the sky area to create the sun.

I have then used the clarity stencil brushes and inked the sky using Salty Ocean Distress Ink, trying not to be to heavy handed. Once i had an undercoat of blue, I've placed a Clouds mask over the sky and the continued to ink.

Once happy with the sky i have moved onto the foreground. For this i used  Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and the stencil brushes starting with the lowest hill. All i have done after that is moved the torn hill paper up into a different position and inked again and repeated until i was happy. Each time being a bit lighter on the ink to try and add depth to the image.

I have used the Forest Ridge stamp and inked into position. Using the torn hill paper i have placed it under the tress and created some small hills and shadow.

To do the sun i have removed the mask and placed the piece of paper i cut the sun from back around the sun. This has allowed me to ink the sun without affecting the sky.

To create the look of looking through i have drawn around the edge of the stencil using a black micron pen.

To finish i have stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Stamps Away collection and mat and layered onto blue and green card.

My sister liked it and i hope you do to.

But i didn't stop here. I wanted to play with my Gelli plate and another technique i have seen Barbara from Clarity Stamps do.

All i have done is inked the Gelli plate directly with the same inks i used for the card in random areas. (start with your lightest colour first). Then give it a light spray of water and move the ink around to blend with a clear plastic bag. All i did next was place a piece of card onto the Gelli plate to transfer the image and removed. Cut down to size and inked the sentiment and flowers, mount onto black card and stuck it to the Wallet, Insert money and Voila

I really liked the affect this Gelli plate and water technique has given and i hope you like these cards as much as i enjoyed making them. Thanks

Thinking of You

I've been busy with Wedding Invites so I will share to you today Barry's recent cards. He's recently been inspired by Barbara Gray, Lavinia Stamps and thanks to Sheena Douglas he's started using Aquatint Inks again.

For the card above, he's used Distress Inks through Imagination Crafts' stencil on Lime Tree's ultra white card. He then stamped the tree and girl on swing from Inkylicious Stamps with Archival Ink. The sentiment by Stamps Away is then used before matt and layering on red and orange paper.

The card above was entered on Lavinia Stamps Challenge Blog for January 2015 and Barry won! So pleased, as we can have more stamps to play with :) There's a new challenge now so check it out and enter. You can even enter via email if you don't have a blog or unsure how to link your pics (like me).

Have a great week and thanks for looking.
